F1 2021 Header

Smash intense stunt-based challenges together in Linkups, a new free-roam feature open to any daring drivers willing to accept! Take a break from the track and tear across the map to one of 14 locations from the Seba Ski Resort to the Quarry, teaming up with the Lakeshore community to complete collective goals of escalating difficulty against the clock.

Green means go:

When a Linkup begins, a countdown will start for you to reach the green zone before it disappears. Driving inside the zone will end the countdown and begin the Linkup, which anyone can join by entering the zone. The green zone only appears for a limited time, if you want to level up with the homies, you’ll need all of your party members in the zone before the Linkup finishes.

Word on the street: You can’t change your car during the Linkup, so head to the garage beforehand to get the right ride for the job.

Be humble:

We know a lot of the community in Lakeshore like to talk big, but here it’s time to look beyond number one. Linkups challenge street racers to meet shared targets by working together. This means collaborating to increase your score counter and managing the cops when the heat turns up and they swarm in on your position. The zone stays the same size regardless of how many racers join the Linkup, so more players means more chaos! The zones will become much busier, making scoring more difficult as the cops disrupt the party. Try to spread out and use as much of the zone as possible, as sacrificing your own score and pulling cops away from the others could allow your squad to score crucial points to advance to the next round.

Be where it’s at:

Linkups challenge racers to 14 different objectives across 14 locations spawned randomly across Lakeshore. These zones are a mix of remixed Takeover tracks and new areas, offering tailored challenges for you to tear it up across the map from the Northern Wind Farms to the Jefferson Quarry in the South. Take your ride to new scenery by hitting the slopes at the Seba Ski Resort and checking your scorecard on the Marigold Golf Course.

Word on the street: The Seba Ski Resort’s undulating zone is full of high jumps and huge slopes that demand strong command of your ride to maximize your score.

Go round for round:

Linkups take place over 4 rounds, challenging you to a maximum of 4 phases with up to 3 scoring objectives per phase. Complete all objectives by filling the scoring bar to move to the next phase, and complete all the phases to move to the next round. Linkups become more challenging the further you progress as objectives increase in difficulty, more phases need to be completed for each round, and cops become more aggressive as Heat levels rise. You'll get rewarded XP for your efforts in the linkup, but will have to escape the cops in the aftermath to keep your bank!

Word on the street: Boost your chances of success by bringing the right set of wheels. Maybe one racer brings a drift car to score big on the drift objectives whilst another selects a pickup to focus on taking down cops.

In it ‘till the end:

A Linkup ends when you have completed every round or if you fail to complete any round within the time limit. You can also leave the Linkup any time and it will end when all racers leave the zone. Don’t worry though. Hit a big jump and fly outside the green zone? Your score will still be counted and the Linkup will allow you time to return to the zone and carry on scoring points.

Word on the street: Using a lower tier vehicle can offer more accurate precision when taking on near miss or smashable challenges. For more speed oriented objectives, high performance cars will dominate.

Secure the bag:

Completing Linkups will earn you Speed Pass XP and cash, however, you’ll need to shake the cops and bank your ‘at risk’ cash before it’s safe. The more contributions you make towards each of the objectives per phase, the higher your rewards will be at the end of the Linkup.

Now go team up and tear up!
