CLASSES
The Specialists of Battlefield 2042 are divided into four Classes: Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon – each with its own strengths on the battlefield. Use the unique Class Gadgets and Weapon Proficiencies to assist your team and secure victory.
ASSAULT
Eager to take on the frontline? The Assault class specializes in spearheading attacks. Specialists Mackay, Dozer, Sundance, and Zain are part of this aggressive Class and can be trusted to storm into objectives. Assaults can also use demolition equipment to bring down enemy defenses, intrusive vehicles, or to open up new paths.
ENGINEER
With their immense repair skills, Engineers are crucial to the success of any vehicles in battle. Engineer Specialists Boris, Crawford, and Lis can also take down enemy vehicles from afar, fortify spaces, and provide the team with equipment useful for holding on to objectives.
SUPPORT
Support Specialists are essential to teammates who want to stay in the fight. Reviving, resupplying ammo, and handing out suppressive equipment, Supports let fellow No-Pats engage in sustained combat. The Support Class is composed of Specialists Falck, Angel, and Irish.
RECON
If close-quarters combat isn’t for you, then look to the Recon class for sniping and other vantage point abilities. Recons like Paik, Casper, and Rao look to avoid direct confrontation and instead look for backdoor opportunities for themselves and the team. Their equipment interferes with enemy systems and creates weaknesses through subversion and sharing information about enemy positions.
LOADOUTS
Each Class has a unique Loadout, with a different set of gear available to it. The new Class Gadget is part of every Loadout and enhances the role of the Class.
WEAPONS
Primary weapons and sidearms are completely open between all Classes. In other words, players can equip any soldier with any weapon.
WEAPON PROFICIENCIES
Each Class has a unique weapon category proficiency. For instance, Assault Rifles are extra suitable for Assault Class players, who will get extra magazines when using them.
CLASS GADGETS
Each Class has one unique Gadget that is always equipped in battle. This Class Gadget fits the skills the Class specializes in.
OPEN GADGETS
In addition to their Class Gadget, Specialists can choose one Open Gadget from a selection tied to their Class and add it to their loadout.
