Battle Pass 101 - Updates From Season 1

First, a quick crash course on how the Battle Pass works:

The Battlefield 6 and REDSEC Battle Pass boasts over 100 Tiers of content. One Tier requires 10 Battle Pass Points to unlock. You can advance through these Tiers in one of three ways:

COMPLETE WEEKLY CHALLENGES: Completing Weekly Challenges awards a certain number of Battle Pass Points, depending on the difficulty of the challenge. Complete a set number of Weekly Challenges to unlock a Bonus Challenge worth more Battle Pass Points.

EARN CAREER XP, UPDATED FOR SEASON 2: Simply play the game to unlock Battle pass Points over time. New to Season 2, the ratio of XP to Battle Pass Points has been significantly reduced based on Community feedback. **

In other words, Battle Pass Points will be easier to unlock with XP compared to this method in Season 1, although completing Weekly Challenges greatly expedites Battle Pass completion.

TIER SKIPS. For a set amount of BFC (Battlefield Coins), you can purchase Tiers directly.

The Battle Pass is sectioned into “Paths,” starting with the five-Tier Recruit Path. After leveling through this introductory Recruit Path, you have the choice of completing the next four Paths in any order. You can choose this Path by going to the Battle Pass section of the main menu, then selecting the Path you wish to advance by following the on-screen instructions to “activate” the Path. You can change your current Battle Pass path at any time.

If you do not actively choose a path, you will automatically unlock rewards in order of each path.

Complete all paths during a Season to unlock two ultimate mastery paths, which have their own Tiers of the most high-end content such as Legendary Weapon Packages.

Whenever you are in any vehicle, you can access an additional BF Pro Radio Station with licensed songs across several genres, including rock, hip-hop, and heavy metal.

To access this radio station, simply enter any vehicle and open the commrose - for example, “Q,” on a default keyboard and mouse - then, select the radio option to find the exclusive BF Pro Radio Station in addition to several radio stations all players can access.

Season 2 Battle Pass - The Recruit Path

Your first steps into the Season 2 Battle Pass are through the Recruit Path. Here’s a breakdown of all rewards, followed by a details on some of our favorites:

• TIER 2 (PREMIUM REWARD): M433 ASSAULT RIFLE WEAPON PACKAGE - TWILIGHT STORM. A weapon camouflaged for use in the cold, waning hours of the day. Perfect for taking enemy positions unawares. Includes attachments that greatly increase hipfire accuracy while also increasing magazine size and enabling reloading while aiming down sights.
• TIER 4 (PREMIUM REWARD): DUSK RANGER RECON SOLDIER SKIN (NATO DESERT LOCUSTS RAQUIB MASOUD). One of Desert Locusts’ favourite times to strike at the enemy is in the early hours of the morning, mere silhouettes against the slowly rising sun.
• TIER 5 (FREE REWARD): NEW FUNCTIONAL ENGINEER GADGET - 9K38 IGLA ACTIVE LOCKING AIR-DEFENSE LAUNCHER. A man-portable air-defense system designed to target enemy aircraft. Requires lock-on before launch, after which the user must maintain target acquisition by tracking the aircraft with the weapon sight to preserve missile guidance. Missiles can reacquire targets mid-flight if tracking is lost or countermeasures are deployed.

In addition to these rewards, completing the Recruit Path unlocks all four of the Battle Pass’ branching paths.

Quick Reload - What is a Weapon Package?

A Weapon Package, such as the new Twilight Storm M433 Assault Rifle Weapon Package, is a custom-designed version of a base weapon that is pre-configured with themed attachments. Think of this as a specific “weapon loadout” for a weapon; instead of adjusting attachments on a weapon mid-match - e.g. adding accuracy-enhancing attachments to adapt to enemies attacking down range - you can instead switch from one Weapon Package (or the base weapon) to another Weapon Package that better suits your situation.

Typically, a base weapon will have two Weapon Packages for reaching a certain Hardware Level with that weapon, including a gilded Weapon Package at Hardware Level 50 (Mastery). Other Weapon Packages are unlocked via Challenges, the Battle Pass, Bonus Paths, by purchasing a Store Bundle, or as part of an event outside of the game.

Outside of having a unique weapon design, Weapon Packages are great for discovering new, effective ways to use a weapon through its pre-configured attachment set-up. You can always customize a Weapon Package from its base form, but it is hand-crafted to perform well in certain combat scenarios right out of the box.

Note: unlocked camos may be best used on the base version of a weapon, as a Weapon Package will prioritize its own cosmetic changes over a universal camouflage.

Season 2 Battle Pass - Four Paths to Victory

Split into four paths of 22 Tiers, you get to decide what functional and customization content to unlock next, themed around four operation directives.

While you can eventually unlock all content across all four paths, here’s a quick reason to consider each of the four paths as your first to conquer:

DEATH STALKERS - POWERFUL AND PRECISE

Without touching the Battle Pass menu, you will automatically be put on the Death Stalkers Path first. However, you may not want to switch paths if you want to get your hands on the GRT-CPS DMR base weapon (Tier 14) as soon as possible…

If you don’t pick up its Weapon Package as an instant Battle Pass Reward, that is.

The other free rewards, such as a skin for The 323’s Lin (Tier 18) from Season 1 California Resistance, an accurate Shadow Stalker L85A3 Weapon Package (Tier 21), and 100 BFC (Tier 3) are solid pickups as well.

For full Battle Pass owners, five Weapon Packages (at Tiers 1, 4, 8, 13, 19) and are all based around placing precise, accurate shots, save for the hole-puncher of a revolver Sidearm. Combined with two soldier skins (Tiers 5 and 22) and one brand-new soldier from Task Force Vector (Tier 11), this first path is a fine start to a value-packed Battle Pass.

HAZARDOUS FRONT - FOR CLANDESTINE AND CLOSE QUARTERS ASSIGNMENTS

Want the new Hardware Suppression System for the Support Class as soon as possible? Take on the Hazardous Front.

Besides the HTI-MK2 Gadget (Tier 21) and an Engineer Soldier Skin (Tier 6), our resident guide writer’s personal favorite among the other free rewards is the Side Effects Weapon Package for the USG-90 (Tier 9).

The balance between a Heavy Extended Barrel with Lightweight Ammunition, combined with a Muzzle Brake, makes for a strong (and loud) SMG with an additional 45 Attachment Points open for unlocked attachments. And its design is perfect for Season 2: rugged, grounded in militaristic design, and feels like it’d be found in the hazardous woodlands.

Upgrading to the full Battle Pass makes this path the one to complete for CQB specialists who don’t mind a mid-range battle or two. The Contagion DB-12 Weapon Package (Tier 4) and Blightstrike SL-9 Weapon Package (Tier 16) have tendencies to melt up close, while the Poison Salvo QBZ-192 Weapon Package (Tier 13) and Toxic Force SOR-556 MK2 Weapon Package (Tier 20) are formidable silent eliminators at their effective ranges. Pair this with the new Task Force Vector Soldier Kit (Tier 12) or the two additional Soldier Skins (Tier 16 and 22) to be prepared for whatever strikes in Season 2.

STEEL TALON - FORGED FOR THE ARMORED FRONT

The Path to unlock the free M121 A2 LMG (Tier 17) is cast in blue steel throughout its 22 Tiers, built tough for the Engineer or any Class prepared to fight man or machine.

An early Free reward is the Keen Edge PW5A3 Weapon Package (Tier 3), equipped with a few attachments that make it a more accurate personal defense weapon compared to its base version, as well as with 45 Attachment Points open for further customization. A 60 Minute XP Boost (Tier 10) is a great consumable for catching up with the competition, while the Tempered Bulwark Pax Armata Support Skin (Tier 14) is made to make you look ready to fight behind enemy lines.

The full Battle Pass opens the Path to its full potential: two Soldier Skins (Tiers 4 and 22) compliment another new member of Task Force Vector (Tier 11) as the heroes - or villains - ready to charge to the frontlines of armored warfare. Additionally, four Weapon Packages cover a wide range of combat scenarios: Tier 9 is the Steel Punch M1014, a punishing semi-automatic shotgun, and Tier 12 is the Midnight Surge TR-7, a clean mid-range option with half its Attachment Points open for further iteration. The other two Weapon Packages, the Sundown Salvo Weapon Package for the new M121 A2 (Tier 16) and the Alloyed Assault M/60 Weapon Package (Tier 20) are two flavors of high-caliber beasts that can rip through the frontlines.

Finally, Steel Talon includes the Galvanic Maul Melee Skin for the Sledgehammer (Tier 7), made for those who love to drop the hammer of justice on the competition.

WOODLAND RANGERS - PROTECT AND CONQUER THE FORESTS

Capped by the new VCR-2 Assault Rifle (Tier 22), the Woodland Rangers path is for those who prefer the routes less travelled and flanking through the thickets towards their objective. The free Corpse Cutter M123K Weapon Package (Tier 3) is a solid introduction to the additional Hardware with the full Battle Pass, as it can lay down suppressing fire through the trees to deter enemy advances.

With the full Battle Pass, the Woodland Rangers path’s Weapon Packages are a mix of deadly tools that can also keep you off the radar, save for the M277 Weald Warrior Weapon Package (Tier 9) that prefers a more aggressive approach up-close. The Piercing Thicket KV9 Weapon Package (Tier 15) and Undergrowth DB-12 Weapon Package (Tier 19) are ready-built for a Recon Spec Ops loadout or any Class that wants to remain off the radar, while the Silent Woodsman SV98 Weapon Package (Tier 17) is silenced Sniper Rifle for those who make their shots count and reposition often.

Season 2 Battle Pass - The Ultimate Prestige of Completion

Conquer the four main paths - Death Stalkers, Hazardous Front, Steel Talon, and Woodland Rangers - to earn access to the Ultimate and Prestige Paths.

The Ultimate Path includes a large Hardware XP Boost (Tier 3), a neat Weapon Charm (Tier 1), and a solid Sidearm - the Woodcutter Weapon Package for the GGH-22 (Tier 5) - for Free. Whether that Sidearm Weapon Package is used at the start of a Battle Royale or as a back-up in any other mode, it is a silent, subtly-designed, and deadly addition to your loadouts.

For Battle Pass owners, the Autumn Ambusher Weapon Package for the VCR-2 (Tier 4) included in the Ultimate Path celebrates Season 2 theme of woodland hazmat operations with an attachment assortment fit for a fast-paced, highly mobile strategy. This Weapon Package, the Downdraft Vehicle Skin for the new Scout Helicopter (Tier 2) and the Fall Ranger Soldier Skin (Tier 7) all fit together for a Pax Armata Assault Class loyalist ready to dominate the battlefield.

As for the Prestige Path, nine out of ten rewards are completely free, including a versatile SOR-300SC Carbine Rifle Weapon Package.
