BECOME THE HUNTER OR BE THE HUNTED

Your squad doesn’t have a target on its back. You do.

Season 3’s High-Value Target Update* - Update 1.3.3.0 - brings a fast-paced cutthroat experience unlike any other, where every player must become the hunter, or become the hunted.

Core to this update is a brand-new Battlefield event, Wet Work, that puts you in the boots of a cold-blooded contract killer. Filled with cutthroat missions, objectives, and high-stakes situations across Multiplayer & REDSEC game modes, how you track down and identify your targets - and when you earn its rewards - is in your hands. The Wet Work Event is available from the launch of High-Value Target until July 14.

For more technical information about this update, see our Update Notes here. Otherwise, this is your briefing on the new Wet Work Event and several key dates, including for the next Battlefield 6 Free Trial**,  to close out Season 3:

RANKED BATTLE ROYALE SEASON ENDS JULY 14

Heads up: the inaugural Ranked Battle Royale Season will end on July 14 at 12 p.m. GMT (4 a.m. PT)!

From that moment until the start of Season 4, Ranked Battle Royale will be unavailable as we validate everyone’s final rank and prepare the rewards for next season. More information about the season-to-season transition will be released during the Ranked intermission period (starting July 14), but for now, use this final week to get your rank up, because those flashy camos are for those who can finish strong.

FREE TRIAL AVAILABLE JUNE 30 - JULY 6

Battlefield 6 free trial promotion featuring a hooded soldier, military squad, four maps, five modes, and trial dates June 30 to July 6.

From June 30 - July 6, ultimate all-out warfare is free for everyone.

In case you missed the earlier Season 3 Free Trial, we’re giving everyone another week to experience the biggest map in Battlefield 6, the re-imagined Cairo Bazaar, Obliteration Mode, and more. High-Value Target’s Free Trial will also include the new Tactical Obliteration mode, a refreshed version of the competitive staple Squad Obliteration from Battlefield 4.

Download, squad up, and leave your mark with a legendary Only in Battlefield moment.

HOW TO COMPLETE THE WET WORK COLLECTION EVENT

Soldier wearing goggles and a face covering grips a mechanical device while moving through a smoky battlefield with nearby troops.

The Wet Work Collection event is centered around Contracts, a brand-new feature that adds mid-match objectives across Battlefield 6 and REDSEC experiences.

Contracts drop from killed enemies in REDSEC Battle Royale Quads, the new Casual Battle Royale Quads Mode, or Conquest in Battlefield 6 Multiplayer. Highlighted in the overworld and minimap, Contracts must be picked up before receiving - and eventually completing - its mission. Missions range from eliminating more opponents to looting Chests (in Battle Royale), capturing objectives, or simply just remaining alive. Essentially, once you pick up a Contract, its objective is straightforward; the hard part is staying alive until its completion.

This event isn’t all about Contracts; earning all its rewards requires completing four Contracts Challenges and six additional Challenges that range from earning score and kills to playing and winning matches (or placing Top 10 in Battle Royale matches). Battlefield 6 owners can hop into Tactical Obliteration to complete four of these additional Challenges faster while experiencing the new mode, but just like the Contracts, completing these objectives are not too difficult with a good squad.

SPOILS OF WAR: WET WORK REWARDS

Every soldier always needs a hand; that’s why the Wet Work event rewards the EOD Bot Arm for completing all its Challenges. Ripped straight from the high-explosive bomb-defusing Engineer Gadget, this arm may not torch ankles or help with bomb disposal, but it can dispatch the enemy at close-range after a few whacks.

Each Event Challenge also has its own reward, ranging from Player Profile Customization Items to a new Soldier Skin and two Weapon Packages.

One Weapon Package, the “Street Sweeper” SOR-556 Mk2 Assault Rifle, takes a hard-hitting all-rounded tool and kits it for combat at mid-to-long range. Included attachments are the new-for-Season-3 Magnifier Attachment that roughly doubles the magnification of your Optic, which in this instance takes the 2.0x scope and adds a 4.0x Option. Combined with a Flash Compensator, Vertical Grip, and the often-used 18” Custom Barrel, this “Street Sweeper” can perform well right out of the box or can be further customized to min-max this weapon’s strengths.

The other Weapon Package, the “Open Season” USG-90 SMG, is for those wanting a high-capacity and reliable short-to-mid-range Primary Weapon. Kitted with a Standard Suppressor, Prototype Barrel, and a Mag Catch for faster reloads, it has squad wipe potential written all over it, whether it’s in a Battle Royale, All-Out Warfare Multiplayer Mode, or any other experience inside Battlefield 6 and REDSEC. It is a solid choice in a competitive Primary Weapon Category, and if you have yet to give it a try, this Weapon Package helps it shine with attachments that usually require several levels to unlock.

FIVE QUICK TIPS FOR THE WET WORK EVENT

  1. ACCEPT WITH CAUTION. Contracts drop where an enemy dies; if they drop in an open, exposed area, try using Smoke Grenades to obscure your movements, or at least don’t recklessly charge forward to accept it.
  2. SIMPLY PUT: JUST READ. Understand the terms of the Contract - whether it’s earning headshots or not getting squad wiped - and alter your strategy accordingly.
  3. GROUP DEAL. Every squadmate can contribute to Contract completion. Coordinate to finish its terms ASAP.
  4. KEEP IT CASUAL. If your squad is having difficulty completing Contracts in regular Battle Royale, try hopping over into Casual Battle Royale, where the mix of player and bots can put less pressure on everyone. Alternatively, if it’s during the Free Trial or if everyone owns Battlefield 6, hop over to the respawn-enabled Conquest mode!
  5. NO DEAL-BREAKERS HERE. Don’t worry about failing a Contract, especially if the objective is too hard given your in-game situation. There are plenty more that will drop during this event; keep playing, eliminate enemies as a squad, and those completions will come in time.

BATTLEFIELD PRO BONUS PATH AVAILABLE JULY 7 - 21

Soldier with headset aiming rifle amid bright orange explosion and sparks, Battlefield Pro Season 3 badge on left

The end of Season 3 is your opportunity to get those final Tiers on the Battle Pass, but BF Pro* owners get even more to earn with its dedicated Bonus Path.

Complete Challenges to earn Bonus Path towards 11 Rewards in total, chief among them the “Lethal Stinger” Soldier Skin for The 323’s Chen Lin in NATO. With summertime here, it’s time to bring those guns out… And we don’t just mean a Primary and Secondary.

However, if you’re looking for new weapons, this Bonus Path contains one for the newer L115 Sniper Rifle: “Terminal Assault” is perfect for snappy shots at long-range with 40 whole Attachment Points left over for further customization. If you decide to swap some of those in and out, ensure you keep the Match Grade Ammunition for reduced drag when enemies get into serious longshot range.

The other Weapon Package rounds out the BF Pro Bonus Path, the “Deathsting” Assault Rifle, is an L85A3 for operators who hold position to deliver a lethal decisive strike. Fit with a Suppressor and Polymer Case Ammunition among other attachments, expect this Primary Weapon to deliver steady shots on target. Aim for the head and keep a low profile, and the “Deathsting” will get the job done as cleanly as it looks with its sleek blue-and-gold design.

There are also two Hardware XP Boosts - one 30 Minute and one 60 Minute - as well as several Customization Items for you to show off on your next drop into Fort Lyndon or redeployment elsewhere in Battlefield 6 and REDSEC.

ADDITIONAL FREE CHALLENGES - UNLOCK NEW ATTACHMENTS, SECOND CHANCE AT PP-19 AND PORTABLE JAMMER

Squad of armed soldiers moves through a city street as sparks and smoke fill the air during an urban combat scene.

At High-Value Target launch, you can earn the PP-19 SMG and the Recon Gadget’s Portable Jammer, if you did not unlock them through the Blastpoint Bonus Path.

This update also includes the last of the Season 3 Hardware Challenges with two more attachments to unlock:

Compensator adds another Muzzle attachment to a category filled with suppressors, flash hiders, and recoil reducers. Think of this as the Flash Compensator attachment from Season 2 Hunter / Prey without its flash hiding feature. Helpful for mitigating recoil, but won’t keep you off the radar, this attachment is designed as a mid-cost choice among other valuable Muzzles.

Subsonic Ammo travels just below the speed of sound; not only is it noticeably softer when fired, it also reduces enemy spotting visibility. If you did not select a suppressor - and there is now one more option against that Muzzle type - then Subsonic Ammo can help with keeping you off radars. However, because this ammo travels slower than normal FMJ, be prepared to aim higher at longer ranges to compensate for bullet drop.

UPCOMING STORE BUNDLES

With the 4th of July almost here, we know some want to let fly the red, white, and blue and celebrate the birth of the USA. Enter the “Proud Independence” Bundle, featuring an “Old Glory” Combat Knife with stars-and-stripes on the hilt, a “Star-Spangled” Gold Dog Tag with a beautiful firework-like burnt finish, and several other Customization items. Check it out in the Shop and make sparks fly all over the Battlefield.

Another top offer to close out Season 3 is the introduction of The Steel Talon, the Pax Armata Warlords who reigned over Cairo Bazaar and sent a clear, decisive message to NATO. Priced similar to other full squad packages at 2,400 BFC, the “Steel Talon” Bundle includes all four Operators - one for each Class - for use when deploying as Pax Armata in Battlefield 6 Multiplayer or in general within REDSEC modes.

Additional Bundles include a continuation from earlier this Season: in case you missed older offerings in the Store, we broke out some of its options into smaller “sub-”Bundles. For example, the “Shadow Assault” Bundle includes a great B36A4 Weapon Package and a NATO Soldier Skin for 1,900 BFC. If you rather have the Weapon Package or the Soldier Skin with a small collection of additional items from that original Bundle, then two smaller versions - “Shadow Veiled” for 900 BFC, which includes the Weapon Package, and “Shadow Basilisk,” which includes the Soldier Skin, for 1,200 BFC - are now also available in the Store. And, if you get “Shadow Veiled” or “Shadow Basilisk” and want the full Bundle, you can purchase the “Shadow Assault” Bundle at a reduced price for being a sub-bundle owner.
