EA SPORTS FC™ 27 includes Dual Entitlement, which lets you upgrade your copy of EA SPORTS FC™ 27 on PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S at no additional cost.

Here’s all you need to know about how Dual Entitlement works in EA SPORTS FC™ 27.

What does Dual Entitlement mean?

Dual Entitlement means you can upgrade your copy of EA SPORTS FC™ 27 from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S at no additional cost.

Simply put, it gives you access to the game on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, or Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

When does EA SPORTS FC™ 27 launch?

EA SPORTS FC™ 27 launches worldwide on September 25, 2026. Pre-ordering EA SPORTS FC™ 27 Ultimate Plus Edition or EA SPORTS FC™ 27 Ultimate Edition gives you up to seven days’ early access, which will enable you to play from September 18, 2026*.

Does everyone get Dual Entitlement with the purchase of EA SPORTS FC™ 27?

Dual Entitlement is available with the purchase of EA SPORTS FC™ 27 (Ultimate Plus Edition, Ultimate Edition, and Standard Edition) at digital and physical stores. Please note that a physical copy of the game will require a console with a disc drive (PlayStation 5/Xbox Series X) in order to upgrade.

How do I make sure I benefit from Dual Entitlement on my PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S?

If you buy EA SPORTS FC™ 27 and start playing on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you’ll be able to upgrade your copy once you have the corresponding next generation console (PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S) by downloading it to your new console. 

What if I upgrade from PlayStation 4 to Xbox Series X|S, or Xbox One to PlayStation 5?

The Dual Entitlement upgrade is only available when you upgrade from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S.

Do I have to purchase EA SPORTS FC™ 27 digitally to benefit from Dual Entitlement?

No, you can purchase EA SPORTS FC™ 27 at digital and physical stores to take advantage of the Dual Entitlement offer. Please note that a physical copy of the game will require a console with a disc drive (PlayStation 5/Xbox Series X) in order to upgrade.

Be aware though that physical stores also sell PlayStation 5 only packaged products which will be playable only on a PlayStation 5 console.

Once I upgrade can I go back to PlayStation 4 or Xbox One?

Yes, you’ll be able to play EA SPORTS FC™ 27 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One after taking advantage of the Dual Entitlement offer.

Can I play the PlayStation 4 version of EA SPORTS FC™ 27 on my PlayStation 5, or the Xbox One version on my Xbox Series X|S?

Yes, you can download and play the PlayStation 4 version of EA SPORTS FC™ 27 on your PlayStation 5, and the Xbox One version of EA SPORTS FC™ 27 on your Xbox Series X|S.

Does Dual Entitlement give me access to both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of EA SPORTS FC™ 27, or both the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S versions of EA SPORTS FC™ 27?

Yes, with Dual Entitlement you’ll be able to access and play both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 version of EA SPORTS FC™ 27 on your PlayStation 5, or both the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S version of EA SPORTS FC™ 27 on your Xbox Series X|S.

You can switch back and forth between each version of the game, providing they are both installed on your PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.

Does my progress in EA SPORTS FC™ 27 carry over from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S?

All progress you make or content you acquire within EA SPORTS FC™ 27 Football Ultimate Team™ (including Players, Items, Coins, FC Points, match record, and leaderboard placement) will transfer from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 and back, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S and back when you use the same EA Account across both platforms. Progress within all other modes including Online Seasons, Co-Op Seasons, Manager and Player Career, Clubs, etc. will be specific to the console you are playing on and won’t transfer between consoles.

Will my progress transfer if I go from PlayStation 4 to Xbox Series X|S, or Xbox One to PlayStation 5?

No, your progress in EA SPORTS FC™ 27 Football Ultimate Team™ will only transfer from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S.

Will PlayStation 5 players be able to match up and play against PlayStation 4 players? What about Xbox Series X|S players with Xbox One?

You will be able to match up with and against other players based on the version of EA SPORTS FC™ 27 that you are playing†.

If you are playing the PlayStation 4 version of EA SPORTS FC™ 27 you will be able to match up and play with and against other players who are also playing on that generation version of EA SPORTS FC™ 27, regardless of whether they are playing on their PlayStation 4,  PlayStation 5, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X|S. The same is true for the Xbox One version of EA SPORTS FC™ 27, where you will be able to match up and play with and against other players who are playing the same generation version on either their Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, or PlayStation 5.

If you are playing the PlayStation 5 version of EA SPORTS FC™ 27, you will only be able to match up with and play against other players who are playing that generation version, regardless of whether they’re playing on their PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S. The same is true for the Xbox Series X|S version of EA SPORTS FC™ 27, where only players playing the current-gen version on Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5 will be able to play with or against each other.

Will my pre-order content from PlayStation 4 or Xbox One carry over to PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S?

If you redeem pre-order content in EA SPORTS FC™ 27 on PlayStation 4 you will continue to be able to access that content, when using the same account, in EA SPORTS FC™ 27 on PlayStation 5. If you pre-ordered EA SPORTS FC™ 27 on PlayStation 4, but waited to play the game first on PlayStation 5, you will still receive the content on the applicable account.

If you redeemed pre-order content in EA SPORTS FC™ 27 on Xbox One, you will continue to be able to access that content, when using the same account, in EA SPORTS FC™ 27 on Xbox Series X|S. If you pre-ordered EA SPORTS FC™ 27 on Xbox One, but waited to play the game first on Xbox Series X|S, you will still receive the content on the applicable account.

Both scenarios apply also to the EA SPORTS FC 27 pre-order content granted to those pre-ordering before August 31st, 2026: If you redeemed pre-order content in EA SPORTS FC™ 25 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One you will continue to be able to access that content, when using the same account, in EA SPORTS FC™ 25 on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.
