Welcome back to our Madden NFL 27 Gridiron Notes. Today, we’ll be sharing all the details on what you need to know about the Madden NFL 27 Closed Beta.**

Before we get started, let's take a look at the Madden NFL 27 Official Trailer that dropped last week!

We’re excited to give you a weekend-long sneak peek at Madden NFL 27 with our Closed Beta! Whether it’s on Xbox Series X|S, Playstation®5, or PC, players have an opportunity to get an early look at some of the features and modes in Madden NFL 27 before the game launches worldwide on August 13th. 

Remember, this Closed Beta Technical Test is limited in scope and does not represent the final version of Madden NFL 27.

Today, we’re going to walk you through when game modes will be available, rules to keep in mind while playing, known issues and most importantly, how you’ll be able to leave your feedback. 

When participating in the confidential Madden NFL 27 Closed Beta, you must refrain from recording, streaming and/or capturing any portion of the closed beta.

WHEN THE MADDEN NFL 27 CLOSED BETA WILL BE AVAILABLE TO PLAY:

• End:  June 14th, 2026 at 11:00AM ET

We can’t wait to tell you more about upcoming features & details in Madden NFL 27 via our Gridiron Notes, so stay tuned! We want to remind you that playbooks, ratings, and players in the closed beta are not final, and will be updated before the World Wide Launch of Madden NFL 27.

MADDEN FRANCHISE MODE:

We will have Madden Franchise Mode available for the Madden NFL 27 Closed Beta, however, there will be some features that won’t be available.

We will be limiting the mode to 4 teams:

• Chicago Bears
• Detroit Lions
• Los Angeles Rams
• San Francisco 49ers

Will have Co-op Franchise disabled so it will be only a single player experience and Offline mode will also be disabled.

MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM:

Madden Ultimate Team will be available for the Madden NFL 27 Closed Beta, however, some Ultimate Team modes and features will not be available. The following will be the available ways to play in the Closed Beta :

Dev Note: After the Madden NFL 27 Closed Beta ends, any progress or items you have earned will not carry over when early access begins.

PRESENTATION:

All the Presentation features coming in Madden NFL 27 are available in the Closed Beta. However, these features are not final and do not represent the final product of Madden NFL 27.

AUDIO:

Players will hear some licensed music in the front end, during team runouts, and within the stadium speakers during gameplay in the Closed Beta. Audio Mix, Commentary, UI SFX and remainder of the soundtrack are still a work in progress.

SUPERSTAR:

Only two positions will be available in the Beta, QB and TE. All G.O.A.T, Sphere of Influence, Weekly Gameday, Weekly Training, Player Grading and Quest content are  Work In Progress.

RULES ABOUT THE MADDEN NFL 27 CLOSED BETA

Madden NFL 27 Closed Beta is available on PS5™ and Xbox Series X|S consoles, and is also available on PC via EA app and Steam. You must be 18+ and in the U.S. or Canada to participate.

When participating in the confidential Madden NFL 27 Closed Beta, you must refrain from recording, streaming and/or capturing any portion of the closed beta. 

You also must not post videos, thoughts, discussions, screenshots or stream the closed beta on social media or the Internet. Doing so will result in removal from the closed beta as well as potential bans on all EA Sports accounts.

FEEDBACK ON THE MADDEN NFL 27 CLOSED BETA - EA Forums

We wanted to share a few best practices to keep in mind when coming across issues or giving feedback in general. Please keep in mind the more detailed information you can provide when reporting issues, the better our team can address them.

Below are some questions to think about when reporting an issue or providing feedback:

• What platform are you playing on?
• Where specifically did you see the issue? 
• If you chose to participate on PC, please include the following in your feedback:
• CPU:
• RAM:
• OS:
• GPU:
• DirectX Version:

The following details are extremely important:

• Game Mode
• Game Style (Arcade, Simulation, Competitive)
• Game Difficulty
• Teams Used
• Playbook Used
• Play call - If a specific play is not applicable, what kind of playcall are you seeing? (e.g. Screen, Play Action, Outside Run, Inside Run, etc.)
• Any adjustments used during the play?
• If applicable, what buttons did you press?
• If you’re playing Franchise, are you playing an offline or online Franchise file?
• Were you doing anything specific in-game? Is this a repeatable issue?
• What did you do prior to identifying an issue?
• What game settings are you using? Did you change any settings at any point?
• Have you seen the issue before?

• How do you feel about online H2H, are there other options, settings, and additional ways to play you feel would benefit your experiences? 
• What do you think of the pass coverage, where do you feel it could improve? Let us know your skill level and game style when providing us feedback on this topic. 
• How is the balance between the run/pass ratio AI Playcalling? How accurate are teams calling plays to their real-world counterparts
• Are there any plays you'd like to see for a specific team that are not currently included?

HOW TO DOWNLOAD THE MADDEN NFL 27 CLOSED BETA

To download the Madden NFL 27 Closed Beta to your system, please follow the instructions below:

To download on Playstation:

• Post purchase of MVP+ Membership , search for the Closed Beta by looking up “Madden” in the Playstation store.
• Click into Madden 27 Main Tile
• Next to “Madden NFL 27” select the "3 dots" drop down option.
• Select the “M27 Madden Test Realm” option to download.
• Access Madden NFL 27 BETA at 12PM est.

To download on Xbox:

• Post purchase of MVP+ Membership, the Madden NFL 27 Closed Beta will become part of your catalog titles
• Download Madden NFL 27 Beta beginning 11:00AM EST
• Access Madden 27 BETA at 12PM EST
  • Note: If you do not see “M27 Madden Test Realm” in your catalog, use the Xbox search function to find and download the Beta.

To download on EA App or Steam®:

• Go to your Game Library.
• Select “Redeem Code”.
• Enter your provided code and get ready to play.

MADDEN NFL 27 CLOSED BETA KNOWN ISSUES

Gameplay Known Issues:

• Custom Adjustments & Individual Adjustments are not fully functional. 
  • Dev Note: You may encounter some issues where a Custom Adjustment / Macro will not have all of its settings respected.
• Abilities are not final and are still in development.

Superstar Known Issues:

• Some rewards may appear delayed and may require re-entering the mode.
• Some rewards may not be granted properly.
• Some Notifications may not be interactive.
• When completing a Weekly Activity and then navigating the Play tab, Gameday Shorts may become unavailable until re-entering the mode.

Presentation Known Issues:

• Some pregame sequences show players clipping with cameras and/or other characters
• Panthers’ pregame sequence can show a black screen until play call for the opening kickoff
• The Patriots’ End Zone Militia is wearing clothing without the correct colors
• Banner data may be missing or incorrect
• Some coordinator shots in the press box have visual issues related to cameras, character models, and/or lighting
• Transitions in the Halftime Report between segments and/or back to the current game may not be smooth
• Transitions in the Weekly Recap between segments and/or back to the Franchise hub may not be smoot

Audio

• Team runout audio is still WIP - Timing of player animations may be out of sync with music/chants
• The crowd anticipation/reactions are still WIP
• Some UI audio is still WIP and may be missing
• Some incorrect seasonal broadcast banner/wipe SFX
• Music ends too early in Weekly Recap, the mix for Combine is WIP
• Incorrect speech in Weekly Recap
• Incorrect or missing commentary for specific events 

Ultimate Team Known Issues:

• Art inconsistencies and placeholder images
• In Ultimate Team Play A Friend, invited players may be returned to the Online H2H menu after leaving a match or lobby.
• Field Pass Objectives May Display Incorrectly.
• Selecting a favorite team through Team Pass does not currently update a player's favorite team in MUT. 
  • Dev Note: Players who want to use a specific favorite team should set it manually in the game's Settings menu BEFORE entering MUT.

Franchise Known Issues:

• Undrafted Rookie Free Agent Overall Ratings are higher than they will be at launch
• CPU Trades are aggressive right now and haven’t been tuned yet
• We’re still adding a lot of variety to avoid repetitive news content

Q: WHO WILL HAVE ACCESS TO THE Madden NFL 27 BETA ON JUNE 11TH?

A: The Madden NFL 27 Closed Beta is available to those who joined the MVP+ Membership on Playstation 5 or Xbox Series X/S. 

Q: HOW DO I ACCESS THE FORUMS TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK?

A: Players will be able to access the forums after they have first downloaded the beta and opened it using their EA ID, and then by following the link provided in your invite email. 

Q: IS CROSS-PLATFORM FUNCTIONALITY AVAILABLE FOR THE Madden NFL 27 CLOSED BETA?

A: You will have the opportunity to use crossplay features. Crossplay will be automatically enabled when entering the closed beta. To disable cross-play, Playstation users can disable the feature in their Madden NFL 27 settings. Xbox Users will have to disable crossplay from their console settings.
