Introducing NHL 25 Arcade

Are you ready for a fun new take on EA SPORTS NHL 25? Welcome to the NHL 25 Arcade event experience, a limited-time World of Chel event that brings big heads and big fun to hockey! Starting today, Friday, November 15 in World of Chel Mode, the NHL Arcade event will kick off. To celebrate the event you will receive 500 CHEL Coins for winning your first Arcade event game and 2x Player/Battle Pass XP Multipliers are also in effect!

What is NHL Arcade?

It’s hockey without all the rules! So let’s throw out the hockey rulebook and embrace the wacky no-holds-barred gameplay and endless excitement of classic arcade games, where giant-headed players can use outrageous power-ups that will have them flying across the rink to deliver head-spinning checks and score jaw-dropping goals.

What’s the schedule for this NHL Arcade event?

NHL Arcade kicks off today, Friday, November 15, at 10 a.m. PT and will run until Monday, December 2, at 12 a.m. PT.

Where can I find the NHL Arcade Event in NHL 25?

From the Main Menu, select World of Chel and then select the LIVE EVENTS option. There will also be in-game banners that will link to the Arcade event.

What makes NHL Arcade different from other World of Chel Live Events and are there actually no rules?!

Beyond the players with giant heads, all NHL Arcade games are played inside a rink that has a smaller skating surface and no glass around the boards, this allows players to be checked out of the ice surface.

Well…there are SOME rules, more like guidelines to help decide who wins…anyway, here they are:

• The first to 5 Goals wins! If it’s tied, there will be a 5 Minute Sudden Death OT 
• There are NO penalties and NO stoppages
• You can play as the Goalie too, not just the Skaters’ positions.
• No player loadouts - All players are equal with the same height and weight. Power-ups and your skills are the difference makers!

The NHL Arcade event will be featured exclusively in the World of Chel Live Events, and you can team up with friends online or skate solo.

Did someone say POWER-UPS?!

Yup! All the classics are here and it wouldn’t be an Arcade event without some rad power-ups you can pick up while you’re checking your buddies on the ice! Here’s what they are and what they do:

• Supershot - An unblockable shot that clears a path to the net and knocks the goalie down creating a mad scramble for the rebound.
• Big Player - Become the ultimate defender as you grow in size and land down some mega checks that can knock opposing players right out of the rink!
• Freeze - Freeze your opponent in ice giving your team a brief man advantage. Players trapped in ice can wiggle the left stick to break out of the ice faster.
• Banana - A trio of bananas slide out on the ice creating obstacles to knock down opposing skaters.
• Super Speed - Experience a huge jolt of speed courtesy of future tech cutting-edge rocket skates that allow you to fly around the ice at blinding speeds.
• Double Score - Turn your next goal into not one but two goals at once while this power-up is active and enjoy some invulnerability to some of your opponent's power-ups.
• Small Goalie - Shrink your opponent’s goalie and increase your scoring chances, but even the tiniest goalie can make the biggest saves.
• Big Goalie - Supersize your team’s goalie, making them more resistant to Supershot and better at making saves.

Any other features to go with those amazing power-ups?

YOU KNOW IT!

• Stacking Power-ups - Players can gain multiple power-ups at one time and each power-up is visually represented on their character.
• Spawning Power-ups - Earn power-ups by landing big body checks on your opponents or by getting shots on the net.

NHL Arcade sounds amazing but I want more!

Alright, we’ll give you a tease of what other NHL Arcade events are coming up, we’ll have more details on these soon:

NHL Arcade + The sequel to NHL Arcade features all of the power-ups from NHL Arcade and adds four new power-ups to the mix creating more chaos (and fun!) out on the ice:

• Lightning - Call down a quick set of lightning strikes that add a jolt of electricity to the game, not even the goalie is safe from those! Just keep an eye on the puck for the third and final strike.
• Curse - A voodoo doll that curses your opponent with Reverse Controls. Can you fight through the curse and score that big goal?
• TNT Puck - Turn the puck into an explosive game changer knocking down anyone caught in its blast radius. Time the explosion with a shot to create great scoring chances.
• Angry Mascot - A personal favorite! Summon your Team’s mascot to wreak havoc on your opponent's team opening up the ice for great counterattacks or helping out on defense.

NHL Frenzy - An out-of-this-world event featuring unbelievable stadium effects that bring the arena to life by creating obstacles for the teams to avoid and use to their advantage as they battle to claim VICTORY!

NHL Frenzy will feature all of the power-ups from Arcade and Arcade + and will add UFOs with special beams!:

• Abduction Beam - An overhead UFO will blast down a tractor beam onto the ice and any player caught in the beam will be pulled out of play for a certain amount of time.
• Laser Attack - An overhead UFO will send down laser beams that zap and split the ice leaving behind trails of fire that will take out any player passing through the area for a period of time.
