The Apex Legends VS Street Fighter 6 Event is here and runs from September 22 to October 13, 2026. Players can experience first-hand some of their favorite fighting styles of classic Street Fighter characters including Ryu, Chun-Li, Akuma, and Dhalsim in a Street Fighter 6-themed Olympus. Plus, Street Fighter cosmetics, a Hadoken Mythic Universal Melee, and more.

Making a dream collaboration

“Bringing Street Fighter 6 into the Outlands is a dream collaboration for our team,” says Val Ayer, Senior Game Product Manager. “Both Apex Legends and Street Fighter are built around competition, skill, and mastery, making this a natural pairing.”

The team’s goal was to create an experience that feels authentic to both franchises—welcoming Street Fighter players into the Outlands while giving Apex players a fresh way to engage with the world they know.

“That meant taking recognizable Street Fighter elements, both classic and new, and reimagining them through an Apex lens,” says Val. “From transforming Olympus into a Street Fighter-inspired stage to turning the iconic Hadoken into a Universal Melee, every element was designed to feel unmistakably Street Fighter while still fitting seamlessly into Apex Legends.”

Remixing Olympus for smashable Punch Trucks, an arcade feel

“Remixing Olympus for this takeover was all about immersing players in fighting game culture,” says Eduardo Agostini, World Director. “Building off what we learned on maps like the Night City E-District remix from our Cyberpunk 2077 collaboration, we wanted Olympus to feel like a living Street Fighter stage. For the Street Fighter 6 collaboration especially, we kept thinking of how we could inject that high-energy arcade feel directly into the map.” 

For this, the team introduced a POI takeover in Luke’s Gym alongside smashable Punch Trucks–a nod to the classic bonus stages of Street Fighter. 

In addition, they added classic arcade cabinets, giant Blanka-chan balloons, bold color, graffiti and massive statues of the fighters themselves.

“We’re really excited for players to explore every corner of this map and feel the energy that the team poured into it,” says Eduardo.

But a remixed map isn’t the only change happening.

How Wildcard works

Wildcard fuses classic battle royale survival with legendary Street Fighter mechanics. So how does it work?

First, grab tokens across the map to fill your Fight Gauge. Once it is maxed out, trigger your Fighter Form to pull the camera back into third-person and start throwing down. You will gain massive damage reduction, enhanced movement, block capabilities, and a completely new set of special moves to wreck your opponents.

If you survive until the final round, you will enter the Showdown, which is a chaotic free-for-all. Downed and respawning players drop straight back into the action immediately, meaning everyone will be trading Hadokens, Shoryukens, Yoga Sunbursts, and Kikosho blasts until only one squad is left standing.
