The Gap Year Series concludes with Streets in Bloom; a bright finale that welcomes spring and wraps up your Sims’ travels abroad. After snow-covered mountains and cozy cabins, the air is warmer, the streets are alive with color, and your Sims are ready for one final chapter of discovery.

The Gap Year Blossoms One Last Time

As winter fades, lanterns glow, blossoms unfold, and everyday life hums with new energy. Streets in Bloom celebrates the small joys of community, creativity, and connection. Whether your Sims are mastering claw machines, sipping coffee with kawaii cats, or soaking in an open-air spring, every moment feels like a fresh beginning.

A Parting Souvenir For The Trip

Your Sims can step into spring fashion with the Bloom Street Look; a playful oversized hoodie paired with sneakers and leg warmers, complete with a statement Yamachan crossbody bag that ties it all together. It’s cozy, modern, and perfect for city strolls or late-night arcade runs.

Four color variants of the outfit will appear in your inbox during the first week of the update, each available for 48 hours before the next arrives. Don’t miss your chance to collect them all and give your Sims a fresh spring wardrobe.

Introducing Capsules

Capsules are a new way to earn and unlock in-game currency and resources. They replace the long-running Spin Plants, including the Life Point Lotus, Simoleon Sprout, and Social Point Flower. The new system is faster and can be opened instantly. You don't need a garden patch anymore, and it won't need any actions from your Sims. Capsules look and feel great to open, but the real fun is discovering what is inside.

When Capsules arrive in your game, you will find a few types, including Coin Capsules, Mega Coin Capsules, Life Point Capsules, Social Point Capsules, and Resource Capsules.

You will also find a free Simoleon Capsule that refreshes every four hours. Once you open it, a cooldown begins. Check back when the timer resets to claim your next reward.

Enhanced Lighting – More Community Spaces Glow Up

Enhanced Lighting keeps expanding! This update brings new life to even more community spaces, including the Community Center, Swimming Center, Snow Park, Stables, Health Club, Campgrounds, Romantic Island, Magical Rainforest, and Downtown High School.

Celebrate Black History Month with us!

The Sims FreePlay is honoring Black History Month, a time to celebrate Black excellence and legacy, with new Create-A-Sim items. This update adds styles for Teenage, Adult, and Senior Sims directly to the base game, inspired by natural textures, protective styles, and a broader range of options. These additions are permanent, giving you more ways to create your Sims.

Throughout February, you’ll also receive weekly inbox gifts featuring playful highlights and alternative colorways that build on these styles. We hope these looks inspire even more personality, creativity, and cultural expression in the stories you tell.
