Straights can be evaded with ^RSLEFT^ and ^RSRIGHT^. This will cause your opponent to lose more stamina than usual. Swaying in the same direction as a Hook can result in significant damage, while swaying away from a Hook can mitigate damage taken.

If your opponent attempts to defend the cancelled transition, the opponent might be timed out from defending the next transition. This allows your fighter to transition freely. Be quick, the timeout window for your opponent is very small.

Pressing ^RSALL^ or ^LSALL^ in a direction and then pressing ^RT^ will cancel a transition.

How to Cancel a Transition


Takedowns to Submission Reversals can be completed by holding ^LB^+^LT^+RT^. The timing for this reversal is very quick and if the input is too late, there will be no denial of the takedown. If your fighter does not have a Submission Reversal in their move set, you will get a normal denial instead.

Submission Reversals


In order to hit the difficult timing of Judo or Submission reversals, it is recommended to pre-emptively hold the ^LT^+^RT^ input before you believe your opponent will shoot for a takedown. Pre-emptively holding the Takedown Denial input will drop your fighters hands, but will allow all Takedowns to be denied or reversed as quickly as possible.

Pre-emptive Deny


Blocking on the ground is the same as Stand-Up striking. Hold ^RT^ to block your head and hold ^LT^+^RT^ to block your body. In most tight positions, strikes cannot be blocked, but are usually not very damaging.

^LT^+^RT^ to Block Body.
